| 作品解説 | 赤い地と水平・垂直の格子をベースに、無数の直線が、ある法則に従って配置されています。太さや長さの均質なこれらの線は、製図用具の烏口（からすぐち）を用いて引かれており、制作する身体や感情の痕跡を残さずに、純度の高い構成的画面を作り出そうとする意図がうかがえます。 しかしよく観察すれば、わずかに濃さや角度のむらが認められ、一見工業製品のような無機質な線が、やはり人の手の所産であることが実感されます。見る者は、作者の驚異的な丹念さと集中力に圧倒されながら、システムの生み出すリズミカルな造形に、さまざまな思索の世界へと誘われます。 菅野聖子 1933‐1988 仙台市生まれ。1951年、尚絅女学院高等部（現・尚絅学院高等学校）在学中から絵を学んだ。1956年、福島大学学芸学部卒業。1958年、神戸へ移住。1964年に吉原治良にコラージュ作品を見せる機会を得た。同年より1972年の解散まで、具体美術協会の展覧会に継続出品した。1971年、第10回現代美術展に初入選。関西を中心に個展やグループ展での発表を続けた。数学や音楽、詩への関心も高く、線による幾何学的絵画のほか、記号詩も手がけた。 |
| Description | Countless straight lines have been arranged in a certain pattern on a red background with a horizontal and vertical grid. These lines of uniform thickness and length were drawn with a drafting implement known as a ruling pen, which hints at the artist’s intention to create a pure, structural image without leaving any traces of the artist’s physical body or emotions. However, upon closer inspection, slight variations in intensity and angle can be seen, and the inorganic lines which at first glance resembled an industrial product instead reveal that this is the work of human hands. The viewer is captivated by the artist’s astounding meticulousness and concentration, and the rhythmic forms created by this system invite the viewer into a world of various speculations. |
