| 作品解説 | 正体不明の、神とも悪魔ともつかぬ存在が、「紫と黄色」の「二つの球」を操っています。色彩理論では対比的な色である紫と黄色が、互いに交じり合うことなく、中央で大きく入り乱れています。「運命の響き」が創造されているようです。 この絵が描かれた1916年は、第一次世界大戦のさなかでした。自ら志願して従軍した友人のフランツ・マルクの戦死の知らせを受け、一方でクレー自身にも召集令状が届きますが前線へは送られませんでした。友人と自分、そして様々な人々の運命を分けたこの年を、クレーは日記の中で「運命の年」と記しました。 |
| Description | An unidentified being, neither god nor demon, manipulates two spheres, one purple and one yellow. In color theory, purple and yellow are contrasting colors; they do not intermingle with one another, but instead intertwine in a large, jumbled mass in the center. This seems to create the “sound of fate”. This painting was created in 1916, in the midst of World War I. Klee had received news of the death of his friend Franz Marc, who had volunteered to serve in the army; he himself had received a draft notice, but had not been sent to the front lines. In his diary, Klee described this year, which had divided up the fates of his friend, himself, and many others, as “a fateful year”. |
