| 作品解説 | タイトルのミニアチュールとは、ヨーロッパの中世写本の冒頭に置かれる小さな挿絵のこと。小さな規格、装飾的な画面に金色の縁取りがされた本作は、確かにミニアチュールを思わせます。 画面には、魚、動物、人物らしきモチーフが描き込まれています。一見ユーモラスなのですが、多くの生物の形は判然とせず、目が線で塗りつぶされており不気味さを感じさせます。左上に両腕を差し出している男性らしき人物、中央に狼のような頭、そして右手には縦に伸びた女性のような人物……。物語を読み解きたくなる作品です。 |
| Description | The “miniature” in the title refers to the small illustrations found at the beginning of medieval European manuscripts. With its small, decorative frame and gold border, this piece certainly evokes the idea of miniatures. The painting is filled with motifs resembling fish, animals, and people. At first glance, it appears to be humorous, but as the shapes of many of the creatures are unclear and their eyes are filled in, there is an eerie feeling. In the upper left, there is a man-like figure with both arms outstretched, in the center, a wolf-like head, and on the right-hand side, a woman-like figure stretching out vertically... This is a piece that makes you want to decipher its story. |
