| 作品解説 | 薄い灰色の層を掻き落として下地の一部を露出させた上に、緑の絵具で「中庭」の空間が、ペンでそれを取り囲む建造物が表現されています。格子状のパターンをなす掻き落としの線と、建築物から放射状に引かれた線が、引っかきの感覚を二重に喚起します。 モチーフの輪郭を取り囲む平行線は、クレーの1920年代中盤の作品に頻出する表現です。陰影表現のためのハッチング を思わせるこの線は、長さ、角度、密度を少しずつ変えながら、セピアと黒の2色で引かれています。画面下部の長方形は、建造物にも出入口にも見え、画面の内と外の関係を複雑なものにしています。 |
| Description | Upon a part of the base exposed by scraping away a thin gray layer, a “courtyard” space has been rendered in green paint, with surrounding buildings drawn in pen. The scraped-away lines forming a grid pattern and lines radiating from the buildings doubly evoke the sensation of scratching. The parallel lines surrounding the outline of the motif were a frequent feature of Klee’s works from the mid-1920s. Reminiscent of hatching, which is used to create shading, these lines are drawn in tones of sepia and black, varying slightly in length, angle, and density. The rectangle at the bottom of the piece looks like both a building and an entrance, complicating the relationship between interior and exterior within the work. |
