| 作品解説 | ほとばしる色たちがそれぞれに響きあい、音楽となって精神を揺さぶるかのようです。1911年頃、カンディンスキーは特定の対象を示さない、色と形そのものを表現内容とする絵画を創始しました。本作品はニューヨークの実業家のために制作した4点組のうち1点の、完成に近い習作であり、初期抽象絵画の到達点を示す貴重な作例です。「カーニバル・冬」の通称は、過去に四季連作の一部だという説があったことに由来しています。 カンディンスキーは、風景やキリスト教のモチーフを着想源に抽象形態を生み出しました。ここでも、黙示録に関連する虹や舟、ラッパのような形にその名残が見られます。 |
| Description | Bursts of color resonate with one another, almost as though to form music stirring the soul. Around 1911, Kandinsky began to paint without any specific object, using color and form themselves as expressive content. This piece is a near-completed study for one of four paintings created for a New York businessman, and a valuable example demonstrating the pinnacle of Kandinsky’s early abstract painting. The nickname of Carnival, Winter comes from a theory that it had been part of a series based on the four seasons. Kandinsky created abstract forms inspired by landscapes and Christian motifs. Even here, remnants of this can be seen in the rainbow, boat, and trumpet shapes, which are associated with the Apocalypse. |
