| 作品解説 | 本作は、日米安保反対運動の中で起きた1959年のデモ隊による国会議事堂構内への乱入事件を題材としています。作者は、映画などで複数の場面を組み合わせて構成するモンタージュの技法を絵画に援用しました。本作では、階段、議場、乱入する群衆などを描き込み、現場の臨場感を表現しています。それと同時に、唐突に現れる小便器の列、皆同じような風貌に戯画化された男たち、隠し絵のように仕込まれた兜や眼鏡、ピストルなどのモチーフからは、社会に対する作者自身のシニカルなまなざしを読み取ることも可能です。 中村 宏 1932‐ 浜松市生まれ。1951年に日本大学芸術学部入学。1953年、青年美術家連合に参加。日本アンデパンダン展に初出品し、以後継続。この頃、ルポルタージュ絵画運動に関わった。1955年に前衛美術会に参加。映画のモンタージュなどの手法を取り入れた幻想的な絵画で知られる。美学校、桑沢デザイン研究所などで教鞭を執った。 |
| Description | This piece is based on the 1959 storming of the National Diet building by demonstrators during the movement against the United States-Japan Security Treaty. The artist employed the technique of montage, which is a combination of multiple scenes used in movies and other media, for example, in his paintings. In this piece, he depicts a staircase, an assembly hall, and a storming crowd, conveying the immediacy of the scene. At the same time, the artist’s own cynical view of society can also be interpreted from the row of urinals suddenly appearing out of nowhere, the caricatured men whose appearances are all similar, and motifs of helmets, glasses, and pistols embedded like hidden images. |
