| 作品解説 | 何かの風景のようにも見えながら、特定の像を結ぶことはない、不定形の色彩の塊がうごめいています。神原泰は、画面を切子状に分割する未来派の絵画に通じていたほか、カンディンスキーの抽象画の理論も知っていました。そして、芸術の目的は「生命の流動」の表現であると宣言して、創作活動を行っていました。 画題の「ペシミスト（悲観主義者）」は、神原の詩の世界を連想させ、不安で複雑な画家自身の精神状態の表現とも読み取れます。一方で、当時の神原はグループ「アクション」を立ち上げ、前衛芸術の理想を掲げて精力的に活動していました。 神原 泰 1898‐1997 仙台市生まれ。中央大学卒業後、東京外国語大学でイタリア語を学ぶ。前衛詩人として出発し、早くからイタリア未来派を紹介した。マリネッティとの交流を機に絵を描きはじめ、1917年、第4回二科展に出品。1920年の初個展で「第一回神原泰宣言」を発表。1922年に「アクション」、1924年に「三科」、その翌年に「造型」結成に参加。1927年以後は絵を描かず、詩作、芸術評論、舞台演出などで活躍。石油業界人の顔も持つ。 |
| Description | While it appears to be some kind of landscape, this piece is a writhing mass of amorphous colors that fail to form any specific image. Kanbara Tai was familiar with Futurist paintings, which divide the pictorial plane into facets, as well as with Kandinsky’s theory of abstract painting. He declared that the purpose of art was to express the “flow of life,” and carried out his creative activities with this in mind. The “pessimist” in the title of the painting is reminiscent of the world of Kanbara’s poetry and could also be interpreted as an expression of the artist’s own anxious and complex mental state. At the same time, Kanbara founded a group called “Action”, and was active within the art world, embracing the ideals of avant-garde art. |
