| 作品解説 | 全身に白い布のようなものがまとわりつき、顔まで覆われた3人の人物は、そこから抜け出そうと必死にもがいているようです。見ているこちらまで息苦しくなるような不安感が、画面全体に漂います。佐々木は、1960年代後半、それまでの油彩による抽象を離れ、アクリルによる具象的形態をエアブラシを用いて描きはじめました。佐々木は、生涯に渡って人間あるいは人間が作り出す社会をテーマとし、その不条理や閉塞感を絵画として表現しました。布のようなものに覆われた人物像は、佐々木の代表的なモチーフの一つです。 佐々木正芳 1931‐2024 神奈川県横須賀市生まれ。1946年に仙台市に移る。1955年に「エスプリ・ヌウボオ」展、東北現代美術連合展に参加。この年、第19回自由美術家協会展に初入選。1957年、東北大学経済学部卒業。1962年より自由美術家協会会員となる。1968年、宮城県の認可を受け、運営していた画塾を母体に「エコールノワール幼稚園」（仙台市若林区）を開園。1983年、第1回「みやぎの5人」展（宮城県美術館）に出品。1990年よりエアブラシから油彩へ回帰し、テラコッタによる制作も開始。2013年に秋保の杜佐々木美術館&人形館を開館。 |
| Description | Three figures, their entire bodies wrapped in what appears to be white cloth that even covers their faces, seem to be desperately struggling to free themselves. A sense of unease, as if suffocating even the viewer, permeates the entire painting. In the late 1960s, Sasaki shifted away from his previous abstract oil paintings, and began to use an airbrush to create figurative forms in acrylic. Throughout his life, Sasaki focused on the themes of people and the societies they create, expressing their absurdity and suffocating feeling in his paintings. Figures draped in what is apparently cloth are among Sasaki’s signature motifs. |
