| 作品解説 | 青やピンク、グレーの色面とそれを分割する直線・曲線で構成された本作は、具体的なイメージを表したものではありません。《39×QE》というタイトルも、制作年である1939年とアルファベットを組み合わせたもので、特別な意味はないようです。この年広幡は、本作同様タイトルにQを付けた抽象絵画を精力的に発表し、抽象の画家として注目されることとなりました。これら「Q作品」の表現は幾何学的抽象と呼ばれ、一般的には冷たい印象を持たれるものですが、彼の作品からは暖かみや柔らかさも感じられ、独自の叙情性を持つものとなっています。 広幡 憲 1911‐1948 秋田県仙北郡清水村（現・大仙市）生まれ。中学時代を仙台で過ごした後、上京、駿河台洋画研究所で絵画を学ぶ。1935年に帰郷した際、秋田市の平野家で壁画制作を行っていた藤田嗣治と知り合い制作の助手を務めた。1937年に再上京し、同年二科展に初入選を果たした。九室会などの前衛的なグループに加わり、戦後も二科会や自由美術協会へ出品するなど将来を期待されたが、37歳で早世した。 |
