| 作品解説 | 画面手前には、髪の毛で顔を隠す黒いドレスの女性、左側には建物の陰で不気味に女性を見つめる黒服の男性が描かれ、文明社会の不穏な情景が表されています。対照的に右手には、火山やマンモスが描かれ、太古の荒涼とした風景が広がります。人の顔とのダブルイメージとして表された岩、白い球体等のモチーフは、ダリの影響をうかがわせます。 吉井忠は1936年に渡欧しており、西洋でのシュルレアリスム体験が、本作品には反映されていると思われます。同時に、戦時色が強まるこの頃の彼の絵画には、時代の不条理や生への不安が強く感じられます。 吉井 忠 1908‐1999 福島市生まれ。1926年、上京し太平洋画会研究所で学んだ。1928年に第9回帝国美術院展覧会に初出品。1936年、第6回独立美術協会展に出品後、渡欧。パリを拠点に、シュルレアリスムについて知見を得て、翌年帰国した。1938年に創紀美術会、1939年に美術文化協会結成に参加。1947年に前衛美術会、自由美術家協会結成に参加。同年より日本アンデパンダン展に継続して出品。1964年に主体美術協会結成に参加。1992年に福島県立美術館で回顧展が開催された。 |
| Description | In the foreground, a woman in a black dress hides her face with her hair. On the left, a man in black clothing stares eerily at the woman from the shadow of a building, depicting a disturbing scene from civilized society. In contrast on the right, a volcano and mammoth are depicted, and a desolate, ancient landscape unfolds. Motifs, such as a rock depicted as a double image with a human face, as well as a white sphere, suggest the influence of Salvador Dalí. Yoshii Tadashi traveled to Europe in 1936, and his experiences with Surrealism in the West are considered to be reflected in this piece. At the same time, his paintings from this period in which the war was gaining momentum give a strong sense of the absurdity of the times, as well as anxieties about life. |
