概要名木「センダン」の花の写真。「京都園芸四十一輯」（昭和30年発行）に収録された「御苑内の名木に就いて」（著者は、初代所長の小川三之助）に記載があるセンダンの古木で、清所門向かい、中立売の苑地に現存している（令和6年時点）。春に花、冬にクリーム色の果実をつける。平成18年7月には、苑内のセンダンの実生木2本を京都刑務所に提供した。

概要（英語）These are photos of trees of historical interest, "Chinaberry" (Melia azedarach). This old Chinaberry tree is mentioned in "On Famous Trees in the Kyoto Gyoen National Garden" (written by Sannosuke Ogawa, the first director of the garden office) in "Kyoto Gardening, Vol. 41(京都園芸四十一輯)" (published in 1957).　This tree still exists in the garden near Nakadachiuri, opposite the Seisyomon Gate (as of 2024). It flowers in spring and bears cream-colored fruits in winter. In July 2006, two seedlings from the Chinaberry tree in the garden were donated to Kyoto Prison.
