Biography
Painter. Born in Miyazaki City. Moved to Tokyo in 1925, and studied at the art school Nihon Bijutsu Senmon Gakko. In 1930, entered the Oriental School of Photography. From 1932, devoted his time to painting. From 1934, studied Esperanto, which provided him with a lifelong association with the art critic Sadajiro Kubo. In 1937, became a founding member of the association Jiyu Bijutsuka Kyokai. In 1951, established the Democratic Artists Association. In that same year, moved to Saitama City and began to create etchings and lithographs. He continued his creative activities in a wide range of fields, such as oil painting, glass painting, collage and photo drawing, while also rapidly changing the forms of expression through continuously experimenting with such styles as Realism, Abstract Art, Impressionism, Fauvism and Cubism.
