Biography

Artist. Born in Tokyo. Exposed to piano and painting since her childhood. In 1972, held her solo exhibition for the first time at a gallery in Osaka, and began her activities in the fields of music and art. In 2001, her solo exhibition was held at the Otani Memorial Art Museum, Nishinomiya City. In her signature work, she stretches a piece of cloth on a wooden frame and produces a simple, lucid form in rich color. Her creations are characterized by their strong affinity with the exhibition space, such as through showing a dynamic and melodic arrangement of her works within the space. She has continued to be remarkably successful worldwide, as demonstrated by her exhibitions in European and Asian countries in recent years.
