This is a report on the restoration project conducted as an emergency measure from fiscal year 2008 to 2011, aimed at preserving the current state of this cultural property. The project was initiated due to significant distortions and dangerous conditions of the stone walls and stone structures at the summit of Sazaeyama Hill, which were built with soil from the construction of Kasumiga-ike Pond in 1837. The report includes results from the observation of the dynamics of the stone walls, surveying and ground investigations, as well as records of the dismantling and excavation of the stone walls, and the restoration work of the stone walls and stone structures. Additionally, it provides an overview of the history of Sazaeyama Hill. |
