| Explanation | The artist is one of the most important and active Indian artists in the world. This stop motion animation was made during the artist’s residency at Fukuoka Asian Art Museum in 1999-2000. She painted pictures in water color paints and recorded the process frame by frame. Nalini Malini reveals the contradictions in society and women’s issues in her work, and this animation expresses allegorically the repression of women in India. |
