| Explanation | Born in Hyogo prefecture, Japan, Yamaguchi Keisuke is known for his copper engravings, woodblock prints and paintings with flower and plant motifs. In contrast to these works, he has also created a portrait of a child born from the victim of DU (depleted uranium) shell used in the first Iraqi War. This work is made by putting together 40 separate print blocks. Through his artistic activities, he seeks a potential of art to contrast the beautiful life of nature and death from the threats created by humans. |
