| Explanation | Suda Yoshihiro is a sculpture from Yanamahi, Japan. This very small wooden sculpture in the shape of a plant is so exquisitely carved that it almost looks real. When he installs his tiny weed-shaped works at exhibitions, the artist intentionally choses places that are hard to find. Therefore, the viewers’ encounter with his work is prolonged as they first need to search for his “violet and weeds” in art museums where usually no weeds are found. The artist poses a question about the relationships between artworks, exhibition spaces, and viewers. |
