| Explanation | Long Sophea studied traditional Cambodian painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Phnom Penh and also textile design in Moscow. The artist uses batik to depict characters from traditional Cambodian myths and legends in an abstract style and, thus, she transforms traditional elements into contemporary artworks. Through her work the artist makes a call for peace inspired by the unique Khmer culture. The artist attempts to overcome fear and bring peace to our body and soul by the practice of “Meditation”. |
