| Explanation | Nguyen Minh Thanh graduated from Hanoi Art University. His modes of expression range from painting, installation and performance. He is one of the representative contemporary artists of Vietnam. In many of his paintings and installations he paints himself and his mother in a distinctive style. The boy in this work is the artist himself. The pillar-like elongated bodies indicate the transformation forced on individuals living in a radically changing society. |
