| Explanation | Living in Bali from the 20s to 30s, this Russian-born German artist from Moscow played a significant role in the development of Balinese modern art. By teaching shadow methods, perspective and the usage of Western art materials to locals, the artist contributed to various fields such as music, dancing, anthropology, and botany.
