ExplanationNiloofar Chaman is an artist based in Chittagong, Bangladesh. On a hill near the house where the artist once lived, a giant lily called a Dragon Lily would produce its stunning blooms. However, one morning, laborers arrived there to hack off the lilies for a development plan. The slashed and damaged lilies, the hill devoid of green, and the innocent laborers who merely follow orders to chop them down--the delicate and gentle blue stipple that seems to enwrap the vulnerable in both nature and man, is an expression of the artist's empathetic gaze.
