| Explanation | An artist of Chinese descent, Tang Da Wu is a leading figure in Singapore’s contemporary art scene, who since the late 1980s has been engaged in new forms of expression such as combining installation and performance. The drawing is based on the theme of animals that are endangered due to overhunting by poachers, and depicts a tiger being hunted for its penis, which is prized as an aphrodisiac. |
