Explanation | The artist seems to pull viewers into his dramatic world by his use of paintings and sculptures which penetrate into the viewer's space like a stage set. The drama scene takes place at night when human anxieties and desires are disclosed. It is a reflection of the complex mind of the artist living as a Chinese minority in Malaysian society. The artist cultivated a new methodology of transforming painting into installation. It gave a big impact on Malaysian art scene around 1990. |
