Biography
Lu Yuanliang (b. October 1989, Huizhou, China) is an artist, curator, publisher, and researcher of Chinese public art. He is the founder and Art Director of Beijing Narrative Space Public Art Office. Currently based in Beijing, he focuses on the creation, curation, and research of public art, seeking to explore and expand the boundaries and possibilities of public art in China through institutional practice.
As an artist, his representative works include Flowers in Bloom Back Then, Spring Blossoms, Water and Sky in One Hue, Heze Peonies, and Monument to the Cabinet. His work has been featured in notable exhibitions such as the Tomorrow Contemporary Sculpture Award (2014), Qianhai Public Art Season (2016), Shanxi Wanrong International Sculpture Exhibition (2020), Shenzhen Metro Art Museum (2020), and Kunming Dianchi Local Art Season (2024).
As a curator, he engages in social practice centered on the concept of "public art." He has curated numerous exhibitions and public art projects, including the Shenzhen Pingshan International Sculpture Exhibition (2017, 2018), Huian Public Art Festival (2021), Phase I Urban Sculpture Project for Heze City Center (2021), Public Art Project for Beijing Subway Line 17 (Section 03) (2023), and the 7th China (Huian) Carving Art Festival (2024).
As a publisher, he served as editor for professional publications such as China Public Art Yearbook 2016 and Thirty Years of Chinese Public Art.
His diverse practical experience has established him as an emerging representative figure in the field of contemporary public art in China.
