| Description of works | 【A fusion of the East and the West 】 This vase is a modified replica of the ancient Chinese bronzeware, son (Chinese: zun), embellished with a palmette pattern and medallion-like relief, both of which originated in the Western Regions(the name given to the lands west of China).. Various types of pottery in the blue, yellow, and brown hues which also stem from that part of the world have been discovered in different parts of China, suggesting that China’s association with the Western Regions had a major effect on its ceramics. |
