| Description of works | 【A well thought-through design covering the surface】 The center of this piece is shaped into a rinka (flower shape) with six peonies forming the rinka’s border and leaves inside them. Shippomon (patterns of overlapping circles) with diamond shapes inside are also encircling the rim. The inka (pottery stamping) technique was used to achieve this complicated design, in which a mold carved with a design is pressed against the clay (stamped). This technique is suitable not only for mass-producing high-quality products but also to achieve beautifully uniform patterns. |
