The pottery of the Chancay culture, which flourished in the middle coastal region of Peru, are often designed in the forms of humans and animals with comical faces. This vessel has a handle formed like the head of a jaguar with an appealing look. This piece was our recommendation to be featured on a TV program produced by the Japan Broadcasting Corporation (NHK), featuring museum curators.
