Description of works【A whistle that makes bird twitters】
The potters of the Gallinazo culture, which flourished on the northern coast of Peru, produce painted pottery using a wax resist technique. This whistle has a bridge-like handle in between two chambers. It is designed with a macaw’s head. When air is blown into the whistle, a ball inside the chambers rolls around, making a sound like a bird twitter.
