| Description of works | 【Designed with a ruler and a compass】 This Cypriot jar, in the shape of a skyphos (Greek pottery), is considered to be a wine cup with two small handles on the sides. Painted pottery from Cyprus, an island in the Mediterranean Sea, is characterized by lines drawn with a ruler or compass. This piece is decorated with concentric circles around the body. This type of pottery is also known as bichrome ware, because of the black pattern on the red base. |
