Description of works【Made with a veneration for Chinese three-colored ware】
In northeastern Iran and the Transoxiana region in Central Asia during the 9th through 11th centuries CE, local potters made a large quantity of pottery with a red-clay base coated with white slip and decorated with strips of green, yellow, and brown lead-based glazes. They were presumably strongly influenced by China’s tosansai (three-colored glazed ware of the Tan dynasty) and are known as “Persian sansai(three-colored ware).”
