Description of works【Lajvardina was named after lajvard, the Persian word for lapis lazuli】
Lajvardina ware refers to pottery coated with cobalt or blue glaze, then painted with patterns in white, red, black, gold, and other colors. This piece has geometric patterns in the interior and a design of lotus petals on the exterior. These lotus petal patterns and the rounded body are said to have been influenced by celadon made at the Longquan Kilns in China.
