Description of works【Is a big face a sign of authority? 】
Luster coloring is a technique used to achieve patterns on pottery by applying metallic oxide pigment to a surface coated with white tin glaze, which is then given a second firing at a low temperature to fix the design. Because of the resulting metallic patterns, this type of pottery is called “luster ware.” The horse-mounted figure in the center of this piece has a dignified appearance.
