Description of works【Ban Chiang earthenware with painted patterns】
Ban Chiang painted pottery was first coated with a buff slip and painted with red patterns. Many pieces have bold spiral patterns covering the entire surface. This type of earthenware is considered to demonstrate a particularly high level of artistry among Ban Chiang pottery. They were discovered on a cultural layer that is relatively new (compared to other layers) at the Ban Chiang Archaeological Site, suggesting that they presumably belong to the Iron Age.
