| Description of works | 【Rustic bamboo and a lovely bird】 With a short, upright neck, broad shoulder, and a tapering body, this piece exemplifies a typical jar made during the Joseon period. Two bamboo trees and a bird on a plum tree are painted separately on the front and back in underglaze blue. Although painted with simple brush strokes, the bamboo exhibits an elegant flow. It is rather in stark contrast to the stylized bird which is disproportionately large compared to the plum tree. |
