Description of works【Free-flowing brush strokes cherished by tea masters】
Buncheong is an abbreviated form of the Korean ceramics term, “bunjang hoecheong sagi” (powdered gray-blue ware). Such items are made by applying a white slip to a gray or blackish-gray base and then fired after a transparent glaze is applied. This bottle is decorated with a bold flower and grass motif in tetsu-e (underglaze iron). Such a simple style of expression was much favored by Japanese tea masters.
