| Description of works | 【A 360-degree art piece】 Chinese earthenware bearing patterns painted with pigments emerged around 5000 BCE in the middle region of the Yellow River. Influenced by this new development, the Majiayao culture was born during the late neolithic period in the upper Yellow River region. This culture is characterized by pottery decorated with geometric patterns, and patterns of plants and animals. It is especially known for pottery bearing a black and red spiral design that continues completely around the body without interruption, as seen here, and which exemplifies the sophisticated artistry of that period. |
