Description of works【Floating legs inspired by the way plovers lift a single foot】
A fully blooming lotus flower and leaves are featured on the front and back of this incense burner in a rather modest way. It has a simple form, but the contours subtly glowing in white accentuate its beauty. Because the central part of the base is lower than the outer rim, its three feet are floating off the ground, which conjures up the image of plovers lifting a single foot. Therefore, this type of incense burner is also called chidorigata koro (plover-style incense burner).
