| Description of works | 【Jar for liquor that invites people to the world of shinsen (immortal supernatural beings)】 Enyuto refers to ceramics using lead-based glazes to obtain green and brown tones, making them colorful additions to the ceramics of the Han dynasty. This work is a funerary object. The relief on the side and the mountain-like object on the lid are believed to denote the world of shinsen. Its feet are shaped like a mother bear holding her cubs. In the Han dynasty, bears were worshipped as hekija (figures that ward off evil spirits), and bears were a popular motif for the feet of containers. |
