| Description of works | 【A crown to keep the ice cream chilled】 This is an ice cream serving plate, which has a container on top of the saucer designed to be filled with ice. The dome-shaped container-cover is decorated with tiny leaf-shaped open work, and the base and saucer are painted with floral patterns in cobalt blue. This “blue fluted” porcelain made in the initial years of Royal Copenhagen, a Danish porcelain manufacturer, is a rarity on a global scale, as there are only a few surviving examples even in Europe. |
