| Description of works | From early in his career, TAKEUCHI Kozo has been experimenting with ways to infuse the atmosphere of archaeological ruins in his works and achieved sculptural objects by combining square prisms. One day, he accidentally dropped his work and discovered both transitoriness and power in the broken pieces, and this inspired him to start breaking his works with a hammer. His artistry, achieved through the act of breaking, has been garnering international and domestic acclaim, achieving a new mode of expression that reveals the innate sharpness and fragility of ceramics. |
