| Description of works | 【Brazier in auspicious evergreen】 Bingake is a type of hibachi or koburo (brazier) used for boiling water in a cast iron kettle. This bingake is coated with a vivid green glaze called rusuyu, which was used in Seto during the Edo period. The decoration covering the entire body is made of clay molded into the shape of a mature pine tree. Considering that unryu (dragons ascending in clouds) is the most popular design for rusuyu works, this piece with its mature pine motif is a rarity. |
