| Description of works | 【Beautiful coloring achieved with modern ceramics technology】 For this vase, nickel was added to the clay so that the base renders colors by itself, which in this case is a noble pale pink. This technique, called taireiji, was established in 1915 when Emperor Taisho was enthroned, and it was named after his enthronement ceremony called gotairei. The raised design of lilies on the body is achieved by applying white and blue slurries. It is finished with carving to obtain varied three-dimensional effects. |
