| 作品解説 | コンセプト 街路樹が落葉して木の葉が堆積していくような、どこにでもある、誰も気にもとめない風景を宇部の原っぱに作ろうと思いました。秋風に吹かれて、気が付いたら流されて消えてしまうような、そもそもいつからそこにあったのか忘れてしまうような、そういった不確かな存在に私たちは憧れを覚えます。落ち葉のもつ厚みのように微かで、そしてはかない空間を、この作品が宇部の原っぱの片隅にもたらすことを私たちは期待しています。 子ども達へのメッセージ ふだんならなんとも思わないでふみつぶしてしまうような落ちばの集まりも、その下にはしっかりとした空間があって、だんごむしや、てんとうむしのすみかになっています。じっさいにしゃがみこんで見てみると、落ちばと落ちばの間にはすき間があって、とてもおもしろいかたちを作っています。この作品は、そんな落ちばのもつあつみにヒントをもらって作ろうと思ったものです。 Concept Like fallen leaves piling up in a tree-lined street, I thought I would make something that might be found anywhere, and is usually overlooked, in a field in Ube. Blown away by the autumn wind, carried away and gone before you know it, forgetting when it was there in the first place, we have a longing for that kind of uncertain existence. I hope this work will produce a fleeting space, indistinct and as thick as fallen leaves, on a corner of an Ube field. Message for children A pile of leaves that you don't think twice of stepping on and squashing contains a space, a home for pill bugs and ladybugs. If you crouch down and look, there are gaps between the fallen leaves, and it has an intriguing shape. This work is inspired by the thickness of those fallen leaves. |
