| 作品解説 | 初めてときわ公園を訪れた際、最も印象的だったのは、常盤湖に反射する眩い光だった。 湖を囲むようにして点在する膨刻たちは、その光を受けてきらきらと輝いていたのを思い出す。 私たちが見ているものはすべて、光を反射した現象にすぎない。 にも関わらず、光の存在自体を意識することはほとんどない。私はこの彫刻たちを照らす光こそ、作品にしたいと思った。 蛍光灯のような一定の光ではなく、天気や時間によって大きく変化してゆく、今、比処に降り注ぐ光。 それは、私たちが此処に在るということを確かにしてくれる。 これはそんな光のための彫刻である。 The first time I visited Tokiwa Park, the thing that left the strongest impression was the dazzling light reflected off Tokiwa lake. I remember the sculptures surrounding the lake, soaking up that light and shining brightly. All that we see is created by reflected light. In spite of this, we are hardly aware of the existence of light itself. I wanted to turn this light, that made the sculptures shine, into a work of my own. Not like the constant light of fluourescents, but light that changes according to the time and weather, the light that is pouring down on us now. The light that confirms we are here. This is a sculpture for that light. |
