| 作品解説 | 「時間のもつエネルギーを視覚化すること」が、私の制作テーマです。石を作品の素材に選ぶのも、石が膨大な時間を蓄積しているからなのです。曲がった形を石に与えるのは、硬い石を軟く見せる為ではなく、曲がって歪みのある形を彫ることにより、そのエネルギーを表現したいと考えています。実際に、石を曲げようと力を加えると割れてしまいます。ところが、隆起を繰り返した岩盤に見られるように、数万年の時間と、数百万トンの圧力をかければ、曲がるようです。 "Visualizing time's energy" is the theme of my work. I chose stone as the material for my work because stone accumulates massive amounts of time. Making a twisted form from stone was not to show hard stone as soft, but by carving a bent and distorted shape, I aimed to express that energy. In reality, if you try to force stone to bend, it breaks. However, as you can see in bedrock that has been forced up again and again, if you apply tens of thousands of years and millions of tons of pressure, it appears curved. |
