| 作品解説 | 方々で、都市における生活空間は窮屈になっている。人々は隙間無く寄り添って暮らし、私的な空間も公的な空間も分け合わなければならない。共同生活の中には、たくさんの不安や危うさ、脅威が存在する。安全であることや堅固であることへの人々の切望は、文明の始まりと同じくらい昔からのものである。 私の《公共避難所》は、開かれた形と閉じた形の両義性を表している。それは保護と監禁との間、安心と脅威との間の両義性でもある。私の作品は、外に対して攻撃的な印象を与えるが、あなたはその内部を通り抜けることができる。作品の透過性によって生み出される光の効果は、鑑賞者の動きに従って、作品の外観や内側からの眺めを変化させる。 More and more people live densely and have to share private and public living spaces. We have many fears, uncertainties and threats, as a result of living together interpersonally. Human nature throughout time has longed for safety and vigilance. My "public protective room" shows you ambivalence between open and closed form, simultaneously protecting and captivating individuals from threats to safety. My object has an aggressive exterior, but you can safely go through the inside. The openness and transparency of the room allows for changing movement of light, providing optical effects with views of both the interior and outside. |
