| +History | During the reign of the 10th emperor Sujin, the country went through several years of poor harvests and rampant plagues that left it in a state of turmoil. The emperor himself thereupon offered prayers to the gods of heaven and earth. Amenomihashira no Mikoto and Kuninomihashira no Mikoto subsequently appeared to the emperor in a dream and instructed that they should be enshrined in Tatsuta, which is what led to this shrine’s founding. |
