| Concept | 四つんばいで腹部を付きだしていて、全身に毛が生えた動物のように見える人の造形。この彫刻には２つのモデルが存在する。 ひとつは、体が人ではないものに変身して家に引きこもってしまうカフカの『変身』。この物語は感染症で「巣ごもり」をした作家自身の精神と肉体変化（肥満）ともシンクロしている。 もうひとつは、二足歩行に「進化（変身）」した人類の物語。二足歩行に伴い骨盤が縮小進化し、未発達な子供を出産することになる。一人では未発達な子供を育てられない人類は集団生活をして共生することになったというエピソード。四足歩行の猿人の妊婦。 この彫刻は、感染症を体験した世界に「共生して生きること」の意味を強く暗示する。 The shape of an animal-like person, covered in hair and crawling on all fours with its belly sticking out, derives from two models. One is Metamorphosis by Kafka, in which a man’s shape changes, forcing him to hide in his room. The story synchronizes with the author’s psychology and physical change (obesity) due to seclusion caused by an infection. The second is the story of humankind “evolved (metamorphosed)” to walk on two legs. The bipedal walking resulted in shrunk pelvis and immature birth. This is the episode of how people became a communal animal, because just one person cannot raise an immature child. The sculpture is a pregnant four-legged ape-woman. The work powerfully signals the significance of “symbiosis” in the world of pandemic we have experienced. |
