| Concept | 【作者コメント】夜のバスの青白い光に、虫のように引きよせられます。淋しいイメージに妄想が膨らみ、乗客乗員に勝手な思いをはせています。おなじみの箱型のクルマを彫刻作品にすることによって、不思議な違和感の光を放ち、「美術になんか全く興味ナシよ！」という人々の心を引きよせられればと思います。クルマ離れが進む時代。エコカーに買い替えれば済むのか？新興国で大量に売れていれば済む話なのか？などと、大きなことを考えつつ、それはさておき身近な心配ごとの、交通事故や渋滞はどうにかならないのか？という日頃のモヤモヤを、もしや乗り合いバスが解消してくれるのでは？なんて思いつき、急にバスが気になるようになってしまいました。 Drawn to the pale light of the night bus, like an insect. An image of the lonely passengers and crew forms in my mind, growing bigger. Making the sculpture in the familiar shape of the boxy vehicle, and adding a mysterious out-of-place glow, I tried to capture the hearts of even people who usually have no interest in sculpture. A time where we are moving away from cars. Will changing to an Eco-Car help? How about if they sell large numbers in developing nations? Setting aside the big questions, is there anything we can do about the accidents and traffic jams that affect our daily life? Perhaps shared buses could help solve our problems. I thought about this, and then became obsessed with buses. |
