| Concept | 【作者コメント】人類がハンターとして草原を走り廻っているころ、犬の祖先も人類と同じ家族単位で狩をしていた。今は人間の同居者。権利の主張はしない。この同居者の大きな首が彼方を見つめている。 二〇世紀から二一世紀へ、時を凝視することをやめた人間に代わって、視る犬首。 大きな空洞の頭の中に、見続ける時間がエーテルとなり、渦巻き棲みつく。 二〇世紀後半の石油化学が作りだしたプラスティクス。Ｆ・Ｒ・Ｐ成形の犬の大首。 [Creator’s Comment] When humankind roamed grasslands to hunt, ancestors of dogs also hunted in packs of family members, just like the humans. Now, dogs are our cohabitants. They do not claim their rights. The enormous head of our cohabitant gazes far away. In place of humankind who quitted gazing into the time at the turn of the 21st Century, the head of the dog continues to stare. The time, which the dog continues to observe, matures within its empty head and becomes ether, coiled up and residing. Petrochemistry of the late 20th Century created the plastic – the large head of a dog made of molded FRP. - - - - - 唐突に出現した、巨大な犬の首。野外彫刻では普通、作品と場所との関係が重要視されるが、そのルールを意図的に破ることで、インパクトの強さをつくり出している。一九六〇年代、反芸術と称され、疾風怒涛の表現行為を繰り返したネオ・ダダに所属。八十年代からは犬をモチーフに、ユーモアとアイロニー（風刺）に満ちた立体作品を発表してきた。だが、長いキャリアの割には、野外彫刻の数は少ないと言える。設置の時、吉野さんは「おれの作品は、ずっと彫刻から外されてきたから」と言った。確かに、既存の彫刻の枠には収めにくいため、代わりに「オブジェ」という名が与えられたりもする。今回の彫刻展では、この犬の首がバラエティー豊かな作品群の一翼を担う。多くの人がカメラ付き携帯電話で記念写真を撮っていく。この作品は、これまでにない彫刻の楽しみ方を示してくれたように思える。 |
